up the mountain

Hello everyone. I pray you are well. Have you ever climbed a mountain? My husband and I along with a friend and my brother all did the 3 peaks to raise some money. What a disaster of a day. It felt like everything was against me that day, granted some of it was my fault. You see i had a bit to much to drink the night before at our engagement party, we barely slept so i was very tired, tore a ligament in my anckle going down the first mountain, we left the food in the car and it was my time of the month. Which for me means on the first day of my period i'm always feeling ill. So all that was against me during our big adventure. Despite all that i was excited to try it out, little did i know the air gets thinner the higher you go. So i struggled to breath. And the cherry of the cake was that was the day i realised how scared of heights i really was, when we reach the top of the mountain my whole body was shaking uncontrollably. Oh yes a lot of fun and games that was, of course i am being extremely sarcastic right now. It was the worst day ever. But our goal was achieved and the money raised.
I must admit the view from the top was spectacular. Wow, praise God for the beauty of the horizon. I don't think I'd be rushing to do that again but it is good to try things at least once.

Mountains are not only giant hills on the earth to climb but can also be described as the situations we face, such as starting a new job or learning to drive, maybe you are taking a test and climbing the mountain would be preparing for it, studying.
My mountain at this moment is learning to drive. I can work the gear stick fine, i can sort the brake and accelerator fine, i can do reserve maneuvers fine, I'm just not negative enough, as my driving instructor says im too positive. I need to expect the worse and respond quicker to it. The problem i have is my lessons are once a fortnight instead of weekly, and our car is an automatic so I'm not getting the practise while i wait for the next lesson, so I'm just hoping for the best and getting frustrated with myself. Because i feel I've started to climb this mountain but getting stuck, it doesn't help having a time scale of my babies due date. I would love to be passed before that date. But then maybe that's my problem, maybe i'm putting pressure on myself. My options would be to give up and hold it off, or keep pushing and praying for Gods divine miracle that would sort me out and make me a conqueror on the road. Now God told my husband to get me a provisional license, so i'm holding onto his word that says he who began the work will not stop until completion.

Philippians 1:6
being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Yes this bible verse may apply to our entire life. But i also believe it means all the inner details too. God plants us in situations and places to help us grow and develop for his perfect will. But also so he can use us to express his glory to the world around us. Our mountains so to speak whatever they may be; are but grain of sand in size to him but he knows our bigger picture, he knows what skills, ability, lessons we need and need to learn to get too our appointed destination. Not everyone is in need of the same skills and lessons in life. Some people never drive. And some people it is a crutial skill needed to get things done.

So whatever your mountain is that you are facing. Know that God will not plant you somewhere to be humiliated and abandon you. Where ever he places you he will finished what he started. His timing isn't always in line with ours. And at times it can get frustrating especially when it seems like the enemy is getting his way. But remember brothers and sisters when our wonderful saviour died on the cross, he won the victory which means we too have the victory. We are not victims of the devils schemes. Oh no. And he is aware of what the bible says about who we are, what he doesn't want is you finding out. So i have a treat for you. Here is some life giving words to destroy any victimization the devil wants to throw our way. Trust God and you will reach the top of that mountain and gain all the reward God has aside for you. Victory is yours in Jesus name.

Lets pray.
Father God I thank you for your life giving words. I thank you for the power and refreshment behind them, so that whenever we proclaim them out loud the words go forth and fulfil the purpose for which they were made. Father as the person reading this goes through life's situations, life's mountains, adventures, challengers, opportunities. Lord Your word and presence will be the comfort they need to hold their heads high knowing they are victors and not victims. Father fill them up to overflowing with your unfailing love and peace, so they can go out and be contagious to those around them. Thank you God that we can trust our lives in your hands knowing that everything will be provided for and dealt with by your loving and capable hands. Praise your name. Amen.
