The ultimate rejection for the ultimate acceptance

It's quite bizarre the whole cross situation. Why anyone would willingly die for the sake of mankind. Even pilate deemed him innocent. Yet the life of christ was on the line of the yearly tradition the Jews came a custom to. The Roman governor would set free one prisoner of there choice. This guy knew they wanted him dead out of sheer jealousy yet out of fear of riots he washed his hands of Jesus's death and let them get on with it.
Matthew 27 verse 24
New International Version
When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. "I am innocent of this man's blood," he said. "It is your responsibility!"

It doesn't matter how many times you read the gospels it doesn't make it any easier to wrap your head around why jesus would do such a thing, knowing exactly what was to happen to him. Yet instead of looking through the small key hole that would be his suffering, he kept focused on the whole image of love. Out of love for the entire world, that is why he endured rejection, humiliation, mockery, violence and even death. A brutal death at that. I don't know how close Mel Gibson got to the reality of the real deal. But just watching passion for christ would bring anyone to be utterly stunned and question why? I've never come across anyone that would genuinely take the place of anyone who say for example is on death row. They've done the crime that deserves the punishment of death. These days you don't just get hanged like you used to. So to get a punishment deserving death, I'm guessing you would of had to do something pretty horrific. So naturally we would say they deserve to die; right?.

That's the point. To God sin is sin. Whether its a tiny white lie to a big murder. There is no hierarchy of bad. Which is a whole different mind boggling thing because no one wants to be told they're on par with a criminal. Maybe that's why people don't want anything to do with God because no one wants to be told that. Especially when you've gone through life and have never committed a crime against the law.

But I have to stop you right there. That's the point of the cross. It's not there to you make us feel ashamed or guilty. That's what the devil loves to do. The cross that christ endured is the most perfect love story ever told. Christ put aside the glory and honour that was in heaven and came down to take the form of his creation. So he could once and for all pay the ultimate sacrifice to undo the mess that unravelled through to disobeying of Eve and Adam. You see hell was never made for us. But after sin entered the world through the deception of the serpent, man started to reject God. Turn against each other and do unthinkable things like murder. All things outside the act of love. And this had no place in the kingdom of God. God doesn't want any of his creation to perish, so like john 3 verse 16 say. He sent Jesus to die on the cross. So that through him we can live a life reconciled back to God like God always intended.

It's so hard to wrap your mind around why would he do such a thing. The bible says he was mocked, spat my on, beaten. Whipped to a point where he was unrecognisable. He had a crown of thorns pushed down onto his head. Made to carry his cross all the way to it's final resting place, then if all that wasn't bad enough, he was nailed to a cross. Where scientists would agree it would have been impossible for him to breath without lifting himself up. Know doubt causing more pain as his open wounds scrap against the wood, with possible chance of splinters. Which we all know, even though they are tiny, they cause pain.

So what kind of man would choose to do that sort of thing. In the grand scheme of things we are but a mere speck in the vast universe. Yet God so loved the world, he would do whatever it took to be apart of the life of his creation. He would smash down the wall of death that was the end result of our rejection of God due to sin. And offer a way to avoid a similar punishment that he endured. A way of forgiveness and redemption. The salvation for our soul. Where we would spend eternity without pain, shame, guilt and death. And we would forever be with our saviour our creator, just like it was meant to be in the garden of Eden.

I had a dream that I'll never forget. I was in a que of people walking up these stairs. On top of the stairs stood a man pointing people to the left or to the right. It wasn't till I got to the top, did I figure out what was going on. You see, people going right went to heaven and those told to go left, went to hell. And the man said to me before you go into heaven just go into there and see for yourself. I went into what can only be described as a blazing furnace. It was horrible. All I could hear was screams. Yet no one was dying, they just couldn't get away from the torture of the blazing fire. I woke up feeling such great sorrow. It gave me a new perspective of the desperation for the souls of everyone on the planet.

Walking with Jesus and building a relationship with him has been the most remarkable experience of my life. From seeing him, to feeling his touch, hearing his voice, experiencing his healings to seeing his healings done for others. Seeing prayers answered every where. Even in my own life. I just wish I could give you a glimpse of what my eyes have seen what my ears have heard and what in my heart I understand to be truth. But I trust God. In the mean time I get to share about him. He really does deserve all the glory and I pray you will come to know that yourself. Or if you do, I pray you'll continue to know his majesty.

Let pray.
Father, to comprehend what jesus did for us is beyond what our minds can really take in. But father thank you that it took place despite whether we agree or not. Believe or not. Thank you for this ultimate love. Help me understand as much as possible how much you love me. And help me love others the way you do. Help me see others through your eyes. Forgive my heart and my doings. I leave them at the cross and look forward to a new adventure in you. In jesus name amen
