It's eternity not just sundays

Have you ever built a lego sculpture? I have, in fact I did recently. A titanic ship and a army war plane. I fully enjoyed this activity and would go as far as saying it's becoming a hobby. But I haven't done this post to talk about Lego, although it is how God chose to get a message across to me.

You see, building a Lego sculpture requires a lot of Lego bricks. From tiny squares to long rectangular one. All shapes and sizes are involved in the making of a beautiful masterpiece. The end result is very rewarding. Each intricate detail that are put together, every block, every pain staking moment getting the tiny delicate pieces together without accidentally breaking the whole thing; requires time, patience and effort.

God is the builder in our lives. When we invite him into our lives he works with us, building on a new foundation that is in Christ Jesus. Sometimes it can be hard and painful, especially when we have someone to forgive/ a situation we need let go off, but the freedom is like floating on cloud nine so to speak. On the other hand the building work of our lives builds character and spiritual fruit, like love joy peace patience kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness and self-control. Change isn't all that bad or scary. You sometime here people say I don't want to accept Christ because things have to change and I don't want them too. But it's not that type of change that is meant. The type of change is freedom from fear and depression, anxiety and anger. It's freedom from holding grudges that cause you to be bitter. It's freedom in knowing you are loved and taken care of even though your surroundings say otherwise and seeing God unfold the impossible in your life when others said It won't happen. When God builds and works in and through our lives Amazing things happen. Some people witness miraculous healings, some people witness breath taking changes in their lives. Some people encounter instantaneous addiction releases to never again be held down by them. Not all miracles are huge, some are right at your front door. Like a neighbour talking, or a relationship with a relative restored. Maybe like us, you were under qualified yet the holy spirit directed the vicar (boss) to choose us even though he could of had someone local. Life is never dull with God he always has something amazing planned.

Speaking of painful and enjoyment moments, my question to you is would you still praise God no matter what your circumstances are? Or is God only worth praise when things are going right?

Would you praise God despite your health issue? The bible says though our bodies fail our spirit is being renewed day by day (As we build our relationship up with God).

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 New International Version (NIV)

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

Would you praise him still though you are held back because of a complaint someone else made against you?

Would you praise him though a loved one does?

Would you praise him even though you've lost your job?

Because of mans disobedience to God going all the way back to Adam and eve eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil just like they were instructed not to, the earth is filled with evil and acts of evil will always happen. But like Job in the bible who was stripped away of everything (his wealth, his children, his servants, his health) because the devil was sure he could get Job to curse God. Job knowing God had a plan didnt curse God, he may have wondered why it was happening to him but he never curse God. In fact he still praise God knowing everything belongs to God and God can and will give to him what he desires. This faithfulness paid off. Once the devil realised he had failed and left Job alone, God knowing this would happen because he knew his creations Jobs heart. God restored everything and more. He had more than he had before and was deemed righteous in God's eyes. Don't take my word for it please read Jobs story in the bible, such an amazing testimony.

I know from experience it's not always easy to praise God, sometimes he feels a million miles away. When in fact it's us that's turned away. But please reader, if you are struggling to praise God right now, find someone to pray with/for you. You are/were never meant to do this alone. You are loved, cherished by the creator. Let him in and let him help.

Ephesians 2:10

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Lets pray

Father God you are worthy of all praise and honour. Father God sometimes it's not so easy., please help us. Please show us your love, open our eyes to see you as lord of our life even in the darkest hours. Strengthen us pleaSe God and help us to be there for others too. In your name I pray amen
