Christian under construction

Image
Being a Christian can be hard work at times wouldn't you agree? There are times you think what's the point. Times of pure enjoyment. Times of frustration. Even times where you question if God is real. We all go through these periods in our life. And all of it is because of the spiritual battle that goes on every day of our life. The holy spirit; working on building us up, showing us how God sees us and wants to work through us. As well as the enemy trying to destroy us, by means of society, what we read, what we watch, other peoples opinions. All to make us feel useless, hopeless and a waste of space. All this so we don't reach our potential in christ. Exhausting right. No where in the bible does it say be perfect or your doomed. God knows we will struggle, stumble, fall short. But in his love and grand plan, he designed the precise moment in time where his son Jesus would come and sort it all out with his ultimate sacrifice. But what I can say is God requires us to d...

Cutting through the darkness

Isaiah 60: 1+2 The Glory of Zion “Arise,  shine, for your light  has come,      and the glory  of the  Lord  rises upon you.   See, darkness  covers the earth      and thick darkness  is over the peoples, but the  Lord  rises upon you      and his glory appears over you. Wake up 👀 What do you think about yourself? Really think on that. Be honest with yourself, do you believe you are a masterpiece? I know that's an area I struggle with. I believe God loves me, I know he provides, I trust in his plan. But I struggle with the fact that I'm a masterpiece. I proclaim when I look in the mirror I'm beautiful to God and to my husband, but I still struggle with things such as people taking my photo, or when people compliment me. I love it when people say nice things, under the layers of it making me feel awkward and uncomfortable, it makes me feel fuzzy inside. But I do...

The course a head

Habakkuk 3:19 “The LORD God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills.” God gave animals the sure-footedness to climb steep hillsides, and He can give us the confidence to walk His way. Have you ever wondered how a deer or a goat managers to get themselves up hills without stumbling. They don't exactly have big feet to at least bring steadiness, they rely on these small huffs to take them through whatever type of place they find themselves on. But God in his greatness gave them exactly what they needed to get them from one place to another. That's exactly how it is with us. God has given us everything we need to accomplish his grand plan for our lives. He provides us with strength when we need it, peace when a battle in on the way. Discernment when someone/something isn't right. And like a deer pacing itself through grassy fields, rocky hillsides, meadows, forests and so on with great confidence, we ...

Love knows no bounds

Image
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 4  Love is patient,  love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.   5  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking,  it is not easily angered,  it keeps no record of wrongs. 6  Love does not delight in evil  but rejoices with the truth.   7  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love is a funny sort of thought provoking topic. We all have our own interpretation of what we class as love. Some say they love someone because of the sexual attraction they have for another person, other don't believe in true love so they settle for anyone who will put up with them. In some sore cases people may not know what love is because of how they were brought up, like abuse, both physically, sexually and mentally. You get the love you feel for your family, your siblings, your parents and so on. Then you get the love God reveals to us when we embrace him into our live...

The silent but loud

Image
The unknown battles.. Have you ever noticed that random things happen in the most random of places. What I mean is, you wake up and go about your morning routine to get ready for the day ahead. Whether that be outside doing something in public or your daily jobs at home. When all the sudden your hit with a strange feeling. Your not sure why you feel this way, or where it even came from. But it weighs heavily on you. Troubles you. More or less takes over your day. Ever get those? I can't be the only one. I know I am not the only one. I never understood it years ago, they bothered me so much because they usually brought me to silence and I couldn't come out with conversation towards others because I couldn't get my mind off of what I was feeling. It wasn't till I was once told to pray when they occurred and allow God to deal with whatever it was, that I realised the importance of these silent yet loud battles. I truly believe that, even though we aren't aware of ...

Take a step back

Image
The bigger picture I just love the image I've added above, anyone else may wonder why or/and you'll have your own interpretations. But as I go on hopefully it'll make sense to why I chose it.  Over the past few months God has slowly been bringing to my attention what I'm too write about in this next blog, I tried to have a go before but couldn't get any where, until today when it hit me. I suppose I had to wait for the right moment. Like most things in life, as God reveals things and if we rush into it without knowing it all it may not work out as it should. God's timing is perfect. Well here goes.  Today I was sat in McDonald's watching my children play and waiting for my husband to get the food. I was thinking about the conversations I had at church with various people, the questions I got asked and people wishing all the best for my operation Tuesday. A wonderful sister in christ and friend said to me with pure joy and amazement of how much...

serve and be served

How does it make you feel when someone offers to help? lets say with the ironing, or to make you a meal, or to help with the cleaning, babysitting, maybe even get something from the shops for you. My answer is split in two; half of me is in awe and feels totally blessed. The other half is where the pride kicks in and I feel so uncomfortable, because I'm only 26, I should be the one serving not everyone else doing things for me. But in the bigger picture who am I to stop something being the servant God calls us to be to those around us. Daft right. There have been plenty of time in the past where I've said I could use a little help, and when it's being offered to be by church family and the community.. I don't know where to put myself. A little voice inside me says 'am I not capable of doing this myself' but I know that's enemy trying to make me believe I'm invincible and can take on the world. I'm in my 9th month of pregnancy with a tumor or canc...
