The eye of the storm
Hello everyone, I hope you've enjoyed half term holiday, and if you're from other countries beyond the UK I hope your week has been an adventure that's blessed you no matter what you got up too.
God has put on my heart to speak about our first night on our camping trip this half term holiday. During the day, the weather was beautiful. Sunshine, lovely and warm. Well we all got burnt so maybe a bit too hot. Sun cream was definitely useless that day. But that isn't why I'm doing this blog. I'm to explain the night time. When a thunder and lightning storm hit. It started over in the distance then gradually made its way over the campsite, till the eye of the storm was over us, then it moved on. Though that kind of storm can be a beautiful sight as it got to the point of being over our heads it was terrifying. Not only was it loud and bright but it made the ground vibrate. The next day the locals said they've never had a storm like that, they said it was two different storms into one. Anyway I was so terrified that i was shaking from head to toe. But instead of focusing on my fear, I was able to draw too God and pray and sing with my husband. I didn't think anything of it until the next few days, when it came to my attention that it could have been a lesson. A lesson in which the grapevine and his river of provision (living water) and the gardener (God) who prunes our branches (lives) to complete his good and perfectly plan an purpose for each and everyone of us. confused? I know how you feel. but God's has his plan.
Though God gives us wonderful gifts, he also takes things away. And in his grand plan, it is for our best interest that our lives are pruned to bring forth more and better fruits into fruition. Things such as jobs, relationships, friendships, moving to a completely unknown area, taken out of our comfort zone and many more. The enemy and his tactics can use these situations if we let him to make a mountain out of a mole hill. And we can get ourselves into a panic where we may feel we've lost it or can no longer handle life. Trusting God is a huge key to running the race of life. Because like storms the eye of the storm is the calm area. it's the surrounding area where the chaos is found. While we were in the tent and all the commotion of the storm was going on all the sudden everything was calm yet you could still hear and see it still going on. It wasn't till it moved on abit that the rains poured and the loud noises got louder and the bright flashes continued. We just knew for that brief few seconds/minutes not entirely sure how long, we were in the eye of the storm. SO... What's that got to do with the passage in the bible about the true vine. Well during our experience of the storm we found our peace and calm focus in Jesus. and without Jesus we would have packed up and left. Run away from the storm so to say. Running away from our storms is exactly what the devil wants. And though God does a beautiful job in our lives. We don't always understand what's going on, we don't always realise it's God pruning our branches. We often blame the devil for trying to destroy us. Although he loves to try and get us to run a million miles in the other direction from God. He doesn't want the best for our lives. Not all rough patches are worth giving credit to the devil. Ask yourself what is the lesson in this. How can you bless others and be blessed yourself. And last but not least how can God be glorified init. Don't underestimate yourself. Jesus is the eye of the storm so to say. he is your calm and peace source. He will help you ride it out. Just trust him. He knows what we need, what's best for us, what we need to get rid of what is bad for us, and the bigger picture in life. Everything God does for us is for our good and for us to prosper and produce many wonderful fruits in our life. Just like a grapevine needs all its parts for the outcome to be successful, we need jesus. Your in safe hands.
Jesus, the True Vine
15 “I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. 3 You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. 4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.
Let's pray
Father God. Thank you for your wonderful words. Thank you for the unique ways in which you speak to us. Whether that be through a storm or something our pets do. Nothing is impossible for you to speak to us through. Father I thank you for those who read this. I ask you make sense of it in there lives. I pray you help then understand when your are pruning and when the devil is on the prowl. God we want the best, and the best in your will for us. Help us, use us, and guide us. Help us remember during the storms we can find comfort and peace in Jesus. We have nothing to fear when your in control. Praise your name. in Jesus name amen
be blessed...
