Will we still love him?

It's so easy to love something or someone when things are going well. Don't you think. Your child, draws you a picture, achieves a milestone, it fills you up with fuzzy feelings of pure love. Maybe your married and your spouse just fills you with laughter and love, and despite all the annoying things, he/she does something that makes you have a butterfly feeling in your stomach. There are so many things out there that make us feel loved and we just want to give out love too. Nothing wrong with that. Praise God. After all he created us. He is love.

what about when someone gets hurt, something gets stolen, Or something we desire more than anything and God says no. Us humans don't always do well with the word no. To a lot of people if not everyone (don't quote me, there maybe some find it easy to accept the word no) the word no kick starts a rebellion in us. Don't do this. Don't see them. Don't take that. Don't buy that. Don't marry them. Your not allow that. In a lot of cases a resentment starts too. What do you think? am I thinking wrong.

What about job in the bible. He had everything taken away from him, his family, his servants, his wealth, his job, his home, his health. Yet he didn't renounce God. He still remained righteous and loved God despite the fact he couldn't understand why God allowed all this to happen to him. In the end after the devil could not get Job to curse God, God gave Job ten fold of what had been stolen. I can't begin to imagine how Job must have felt. I pray I'm never put in a situation like it. But in all Job is a prime example that we can overcome anything thrown at us by the enemy. Yes it will be difficult. Yes it may be painful. But God knows us from the inside out, after all he designed us and he knows how much we can handle. So he promises to not give us more than we can handle. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says;

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

So question for us all. Not to make us think less of ourselves, or doubt our relationship with the almighty. What he starts in us he will not stop until completion. But think about it could we still love God even if it means sacrificing our deepest desire? Can we still love God when everything we hold dear is stripped away.

The Israelites in anger with God rebelled and started worshiping other gods and going back to their old ways. God did so many signs and wonders for them, but it just wasn't enough. They forgot. But God and his gracious love for us as a human race, is always waiting with arms open wide. Longing for his child, that's you and me to embrace him and love him as our God.

Don't let the enemy feed you with lies making you think you are not worthy of Gods love, gods mercy, gods grace. Granted without Jesus's sacrificing we don't deserve it. But our Lord and saviour has paid the ultimate price for us, so we can have an intimate relationship with God.

Father I pray for the person reading this God. I thank you for them.  This blog Lord is something running through my mind and I wrote it up. But you god are the one who does the real work. You are the one who sends the revelations, and blesses us. So Lord whether or not this blog speaks to the person reading this, I ask you to bless them abundantly and continue to guide and speak into their life. Fill them with your peace and wonderful love. Thank you for giving us the time of day. in Jesus name amen
