What defines you?
Remembering who we are amongst what life has for us ♡
The point I want to talk about is what's define. I don't know if you've watched the children's movie Moana, a lovely cultural movie, catchy songs. But there is a part in this particular movie where Moana realises it's not the demi-God who has to restore the heart of the mountain (to which he stole in the first place, hoping to win the affections of the people), it's her destiny to restore it. This mountain to which the heart belongs to is the Creator of life in world and when this heart rock get stolen darkness takes over and she becomes angry instead of a generous loving creator. As Moana make tafiti aware she has her hear she asks the water to make a way for her to give the heart back. And in anger tafiti charges at her but Moana stands her ground and songs. "They stolen the from inside you, but this doesn't not define you, I know who you are, remember who you are, who you really are" and the anger subsides, to allow Moana to place the heart of the mountain back. And all the darkness melts away, disappears. Not only from tafiti but from every around the world it has affected. Beauty comes back and life in creation that was affected is restored. This touches me everytime I see it. Because how many times do we forget who we are; who God has made us to be. I know I've spent far to many years not living to the full potential God has for me.
Let's look at what gods word has to say shall we.
I am God's child.

Romans 5:8
This is just few of many. Yet each one so powerful and true. Each verse was designed for a purpose to give purpose in our lives. When we proclaim these words saying them over ourselves and the lives of others. They will fulfil the purpose for which they were for.
How many times do we hear negative words spoken, your stupid, you can't do it, your not good enough, your ugly, your fat, your just like him/her who ever that may be. Through out life we are labeled whether on purpose or unintentionally. And without any further notice in a lot of cases these labels take root so deep that only God can bring it to surface for its disposal. Just like the movie Moana the goddess turns evil and is taken over by anger; it's not until love returns her heart does the darkness fall away. The same goes for us, we aren't define by these negative words. In a lot of cases a lot of negative labels are out of anger, hurt, jealousy etc and we tend to hurt those we love, we don't mean the words we say but for some reason we are satisfied if for a second to push the hurt button when we are hurt. It's what they call the core fear dance, but I won't go into that now (that's for another discussion)
Jesus is what defines us, we are made in his image, he came to earth to show that it is possible to live a sin free life. But he also knows we will fall short. That the beauty of the cross. Him dying on the cross means we can be forgiven. The old has gone the new has come.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
Let's pray
Father God I thank you for your creation, I thank you for the cross. Help me remember who I am in you rather than focus on what the world around says I should be. Help me love and see others they way you love and see me. If I'm your masterpiece so are they. I am a new creation please help me live like it. In Jesus name amen
