Joy to the world

Image
I love this time of year and all it represents. I'm not talking about the presents (all though it's nice to give gifts especially because God gave us the perfect gift so we can have life everlasting), it's not about the Christmas tree in all its beauty. No, I'm talking about the true meaning of Christmas, the really reason to why we celebrate this day. The birth of christ. Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Let's think about the Christmas scene for a moment in a quick few seconds flash back. So an angel of God paid a visit to mary, told her she was his chosen woman to give birth to the son of God. How does anyone process that information. Then the angel tells Joseph it's ok to marry mary. They have to go to Jerusalem to register, mary gives birth to the promised messiah. To which the amazing physical testimony of God'...

Surrounded

Come relax amongst the chaos A good few years ago I had a dream, and in this dream myself and my husband were having a drink on what looked like a balcony of a place I didn't recognise. Yet somehow I knew I was in South Africa. The dream didn't last long but while we were proceeding to sit down and enjoy our drink, in the horizon, every where you looked were aircrafts/spaceships surrounding waiting to open fire. Naturally everyone on ground started to frantically panic. All acting like the end had come. Death was at the door. Yet myself and my husband remained calm, and carried on sitting and having a drink. We could see the chaos but the peace inside us, saying we weren't going to die, allowed us to carry on with our day. That's when I woke up. Short but very profound dream. Something that's stayed with me over the years. Though I may not know why I had that dream, you can relate it too our every day life and how through any opposition that comes our way, the...

He's making diamonds out of dust

Disaster strikes... On the four Saturday of every month we have a ladies coffee cake and conversation (with a slice of prayer) meeting. This meeting was started on the basis of the bible verse Ephesians 2:10. The aim of this group is for women of all ages to encourage each other is all aspects in life. We all have a testimony and our testimonies can give another person the slice of Hope they need, that they too can get through to the other side of the storm they are facing. Each month I pray and ask God who is it this month that can bring the encouragement perfect for that particular time. This month there was a mishap and in the confusion it meant our encourager couldn't do this Saturdays coffee cake and conversation. After being told this and I was able to hang up the phone I burst into tears. I cried out "what am I going to do now" baring in mind I was already emotionally exhausted due to the house move and the insane amount of stuff still needing to be unpacked...

Wide or narrow leads the way

Image
The dream Funny Enough I had a unique dream about the bible verses Matthew 7:13-14   New International Version (NIV) The Narrow and Wide Gates 13  “Enter through the narrow gate.  For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.   14  But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. In this dream each one of us had our own car, the car only fitted one person and that was you or me. We were all traveling the same direction, and for the few seconds of the dream that I had no idea what was going on, (that was until I noticed the country road next to the high way road everyone was traveling on) everyone was stuck in the biggest traffic jam I have ever seen. The motorway must of had like 10 lanes and each lane was full. There was no room for changing lanes, you just sat in your vehicle making your way down this motorway way in the pace everyone was going. I like mos...

From chaos to victory

The journey A tornado is the only metaphor that can claim the title of our life of 2018. From hurdle after hurdle, emotion to emotion, day after day, week after week even month after month was a battle between the forces of the Holy Spirit and the enemy. You hear about it in the word of God (Bible) but this year we generally felt it. It often felt like we were surrounded by the whirl winds of what could only be described as a tornado. Through cancer and my husband tearing his achillies and calf muscle, to one of our daughters fracturing her ankle bone two days before my husband had his muscle incident to the daunting mountain of needing a big house with no evidence of a house to move into. For us to contain everything and stand tall humanly speaking was impossible. Yet through the grace of God and his love and power working in our lives we were able to stand strong as a family with a smile on our face and a spring in our step. Why?? That's the very question people often wonde...

Case 775 - not guilty!!

Accepted not rejected Be honest with yourself, what do you think about yourself? To many, if not all of us this can be a daunting question. I know throughout my life I've struggled with acceptance. What about when you look in the mirror, what do you see and think? Beautiful? Ugly? What about your personality, rejected? Or confident? Do you see flaws? If so why? Could they not be your strengths that God wants to use to show his glory. A lot of things we face on a day to day basis can cause our self esteem to entrap us in what can only feel like a prison, although we don't realise we are in one until we are accept that through christ we are set free. I struggled a lot throughout life with my appearance and the acceptance of who I was. You see I have dark ring around my eyes, it kind of looks like panda eyes but not to the extreme of black. But none the less it still heavily burdened me through my adolescents. Even to the point of covering my face with makeup to feel a le...

God's wonderful love

Image
Experiencing God's precious love and peace is a wonderful thing. Many trials and challenges, obstacles and circumstances come our way. But God's love and peace is the joy fulfilment we need to get through the storms. We have many wonderful things that we would normally do to find fulfilment, such as TV, phones, social media etc but these are only temporary distractions, they don't bring the full fulfillment that the love and peace of God brings to our body, mind and soul.  Testimony   So far it has been a interesting year for my family. We've been all over the place, which has affected us physically, emotionally and mentally. I turned out to have three types of cancer in my thyroid gland and others that surrounded it like the calcium gland, I also gave birth to my forth daughter. Praise God. In and out of hospital with two surgeries to remove the thyroid gland and any other ...

Christian under construction

Image
Being a Christian can be hard work at times wouldn't you agree? There are times you think what's the point. Times of pure enjoyment. Times of frustration. Even times where you question if God is real. We all go through these periods in our life. And all of it is because of the spiritual battle that goes on every day of our life. The holy spirit; working on building us up, showing us how God sees us and wants to work through us. As well as the enemy trying to destroy us, by means of society, what we read, what we watch, other peoples opinions. All to make us feel useless, hopeless and a waste of space. All this so we don't reach our potential in christ. Exhausting right. No where in the bible does it say be perfect or your doomed. God knows we will struggle, stumble, fall short. But in his love and grand plan, he designed the precise moment in time where his son Jesus would come and sort it all out with his ultimate sacrifice. But what I can say is God requires us to d...

Cutting through the darkness

Isaiah 60: 1+2 The Glory of Zion “Arise,  shine, for your light  has come,      and the glory  of the  Lord  rises upon you.   See, darkness  covers the earth      and thick darkness  is over the peoples, but the  Lord  rises upon you      and his glory appears over you. Wake up 👀 What do you think about yourself? Really think on that. Be honest with yourself, do you believe you are a masterpiece? I know that's an area I struggle with. I believe God loves me, I know he provides, I trust in his plan. But I struggle with the fact that I'm a masterpiece. I proclaim when I look in the mirror I'm beautiful to God and to my husband, but I still struggle with things such as people taking my photo, or when people compliment me. I love it when people say nice things, under the layers of it making me feel awkward and uncomfortable, it makes me feel fuzzy inside. But I do...

The course a head

Habakkuk 3:19 “The LORD God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills.” God gave animals the sure-footedness to climb steep hillsides, and He can give us the confidence to walk His way. Have you ever wondered how a deer or a goat managers to get themselves up hills without stumbling. They don't exactly have big feet to at least bring steadiness, they rely on these small huffs to take them through whatever type of place they find themselves on. But God in his greatness gave them exactly what they needed to get them from one place to another. That's exactly how it is with us. God has given us everything we need to accomplish his grand plan for our lives. He provides us with strength when we need it, peace when a battle in on the way. Discernment when someone/something isn't right. And like a deer pacing itself through grassy fields, rocky hillsides, meadows, forests and so on with great confidence, we ...
