don't underestimate cake

I just love that picture about scaring the devil when we wake up. We need to get to the point of realising how big our God is and how tiny the obstacles the devil puts our way truly are. God has really been showing me and putting on my heart, his grace, how much he loves me (us) and how much we do not need to fear because of how big he is. After all he is our daddy. And a daddy who truly loves his child will move heaven and earth to make sure his child is taken care of. If this doesn't give you the chills then I don't know what will. Do you feel so tiny right now, I do, in a good way of course. I'm so glad our heavenly Father has enlightened me of who he is and I'm not lost in this world. And if you are not yet there with jesus, don't be discouraged, God will not stop with your life till the fulfilment is complete.

God spoke to me today through a piece of cake. Yes that's right, cake. Of all things, praise God. I just love cake. But this particular cake looked horrible. To some it may have looked delicious, but to me, not so much. My first reaction (in my mind) was yuck! carrot cake. So I started with no thanks. But my husband said try it, it's not carrot cake, it's a mixture of things into one. So I was eventually persuaded and I did infact try some. And wow, oh wow. it was beautiful. it tasted a lot like banana cake which I love. But in the mix was carrot, mango, passion fruit etc... none of which you could taste. No idea how she blended the tastes in so well without any evidence. I wouldn't have known if I wasn't told. That saying "don't judge a book by its cover" came to my mind immediately. praise God. In many ways we can treat God like I treat the cake. For example the bible is full of verses explaining how big God is and how much he loves us, and how he wants to use us to do the impossible in this world. Jesus himself said we can do what he did and much more. praise God.

Does this ring a bell in your mind about areas in life. It sure does with me. Let me go into more detail. For example, this blog. There is no way I would of started doing this blog, if it wasn't for God promoting me through the most unlikely people. You know when someone wants you do know something, or a parent wants their child to do something and the child isn't paying attention or even listening so you repeat yourself. well God spoke around the same time through 3 or 4 different people who were no where near each other. I knew in my heart it was from him. But immediately the enemy crept in and reminded me of what I was told by teachers throughout my life. "Your English isn't good. You don't make sense" That thought was spinning in my mind like a tornado. I asked God how can I do this when I'm no good at getting words down. I speak better, I don't make sense on paper. But God like he usually does says "trust me, I will give you what to say" and look 13 post later and hear I am. praise God. I must admit I never imagined people would see this from around the world. (here again underestimating myself, limiting god) But the views are international. praise God. So just like that saying "don't just a book by its cover" the same can be for God. Don't limit God by the opinion of man. God will blow you away with his capabilities.. and he wants to show his glory through you. the question is. Will you let him?

Father thank you for today. thank you for cake, and everything else you provide. thank you for wanting to use me in your grand design for this world. help me to be content with you and your will for my life. help me to not underestimate you or myself. Use me to express your heart and touch the lives of others. Jesus in your name give me a heart like yours. Amen.

Being a Christian can be hard work at times wouldn't you agree? There are times you think what's the point. Times of pure enjoyment. Times of frustration. Even times where you question if God is real. We all go through these periods in our life. And all of it is because of the spiritual battle that goes on every day of our life. The holy spirit; working on building us up, showing us how God sees us and wants to work through us. As well as the enemy trying to destroy us, by means of society, what we read, what we watch, other peoples opinions. All to make us feel useless, hopeless and a waste of space. All this so we don't reach our potential in christ. Exhausting right. No where in the bible does it say be perfect or your doomed. God knows we will struggle, stumble, fall short. It's eternity not just sundays

  Have you ever built a lego sculpture? I have, in fact I did recently. A titanic ship and a army war plane. I fully enjoyed this activity and would go as far as saying it's becoming a hobby. But I haven't done this post to talk about Lego, although it is how God chose to get a message across to me.  You see, building a Lego sculpture requires a lot of Lego bricks. From tiny squares to long rectangular one. All shapes and sizes are involved in the making of a beautiful masterpiece. The end result is very rewarding. Each intricate detail that are put together, every block, every pain staking moment getting the tiny delicate pieces together without accidentally breaking the whole thing; requires time, patience and effort. God is the builder in our lives. When we invite him into our lives he works with us, building on a new foundation that is in Christ Jesus.
